Some areas in the game (mostly DLC areas, also one area in the main game) do not like certain mods (or types of mods), some people find it easiest to remove their mod folder in these instances. I recommend setting it back to 12 before doing a new mod merge if you've changed it at any point, this will keep your mod folder at 13, easy to remember if you stop playing the game for an extended period of time. Just remember that the version number is baked into your saves, so you will always have to have a version number equal to or greater than what you're using in order to play those saves, so if you set it to a high number, remember that number.Īlso, if you have mods, or intend to put them back in, don't have the package.mft files in your Patch folder and your mod folder set to the same number, your patch folder should always be lower. If you have used mods in the past and no longer have them (and don't intend to use any again), you can edit this file using notepad (you should only have to set it at 13). If you have patch 11 installed, your package.mft in your Patch folder should say version 12. mods do not change the package.mft file in the Patch folder, the mod manager creates its own folder (default name is Patch_ModManagerMerge) which contains its own package.mft file with the version number set one higher than the one in your Patch folder (this is so the game will use the mod folder instead of the patch folder the mod folder contains everything in the patch folder as well as all your mods).
